The Christmas 2012 Headlines : a New Baby, a New Gîte, and New Rates for 2013!
Firstly a word to those who have waited patiently for news of Number Four … another beautiful boy, Oscar, arrived on November 18th much to the delight of Louis, Samuel and Madeleine, not to mention their proud Mummy and Daddy. He is a gem (all 9lbs 6oz of him!) and is settling in to life at Chargé very happily.
Winter is upon us, so it must be time to get the builders in …
We are pleased to announce that a new gîte will be available for the 2013 season – La Tour. Those of you who have visited in 2011 and 2012 may recall the last section of the original stable block, comprising one of the original fortified towers, that was still closed off to guests. Work is now well underway to transform this space into a stunning one-bedroom cottage with large bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a glorious open plan living/dining/kitchen downstairs. The tower has been incorporated with a new entrance from the main bedroom to make a perfect cot room for a baby or toddler. The cottage will have all the luxuries our guests have come to expect : ultra-comfy king size bed, boutique-hotel style bathroom with double basin, bath and separate rain-shower; fully equipped fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, and top of the range cooking facilities (not forgetting the Nespresso machine!) Of course, guests can admire the kitchen without becoming a slave to it, by choosing to opt-in for fabulous table d’hote meals prepared by our chef Philippe. In other news, the building team are renovating the existing guest rooms, so returning guests will be greeted by some fresh touches.
Our new rates for 2013 are now published on the website. However, bookings made up to 31 December 2012 will still benefit from the 2012 rates, so if you can make a snappy decision, you’ll save yourself a few Euros!
To those who haven’t visited Chargé in 2012, you might have missed a few other developments – including a great new childrens’ play area in the garden (swings, slide, climbing wall, sandpit, trampoline, playhouse) and possibly the delicious evenings meals provided by our French chef Philippe (who joined us in September 2011).
Our focus remains on providing beautiful accommodation, good food, good wine and good company, with a family friendly accent. With the new gîte on stream, we will be able to cater for three couples and three families at a time, a capacity of 19 guests.
We are thrilled to have retained our top spot on www.tripadvisor.com as the Number 1 B&B/guesthouse in the Loire Valley. This is only made possible by our wonderful guests who have taken the time to comment on their stay with us. Thank you all.
We wish each and every one of you a very happy Christmas and hope our paths cross again in 2013.
Kindest regards, Charlotte & Jérôme Field
